Thiruvananthapuram; March 3rd; 2014:  The Toonz-Mathrubhumi Animation Seminar organised by the Toonz Academy and the Media giant – Mathrubhumi jointly on March 5th was well received by the capital city crowd.

The venue of the Seminar, Hotel Pankaj saw a good turnout of aspiring animators who were keen on knowing more about the process of Animation film making. The seminar which was from 2.30 to 5.00 pm  kick off with a welcome address  by Ratheesh Joseph, the Marketing Head, Toonz Academy.

 The ‘Toonz-Mathrubhumi Animation and Visual Effects’ Seminar was formally inaugurated by P. K Vijayakumar, The Head Operations, Toonz Academy. He in his inaugural address threw light to the ‘Journey of animation over the years’ and explained the contribution of the premier animation Academy of India, the Toonz.

The Chief Guest of the Seminar and the Chief Developing Officer of Toonz Mohan Subramaniam, who has more than 25 years of experience in producing International films,  captivated the crowd with his informative  speech. In his speech, he talked in depth about the global arena and the latest trends in film making.

This was followed by a Technical Session taken by Vinod A S, VP, Toonz Academy. It was an enlightening session for many. He detailed to them the latest technology, developments of animation in the Indian and the advantages of the Toonz Academy in this scenario. The seminar introduced the participants  also to the various departments of Animation film making like Concept development, Pre-Production, Traditional 2D Animation, 3D Digital Animation, Stop Motion, Graphics and Multimedia and Visual Effects.

Animation is considered to be an attractive genre, it is indispensible in most of the industries from education to mobile gaming and the job opportunity is also immense and here in the seminar the students were also introduced to the prospect of taking up animation as a career. For this participants had many apprehensions and questions, which the experts answered in the interactive session which took place after the seminar. The Vote of thanks was delivered by the Toonz Centre Head Ajith Kumar C.

This one day seminar was being conducted as part of the Toonz Academy’s initiative to spread awareness among the general public and aspiring students about various stages and techniques of animation production. This time Toonz have teamed up with the leading Malayalam daily- The Mathrubhumi. The Thiruvananthapuram seminar is the first in this series.

Toonz intent to reach out to the public in the suburbs also and with this objective Toonz is also conducting seminars in Pothencode, Kilimanoor, Attingal and Varkala this month with Mathrubhumi as the co-organiser. Toonz Animation Academy also has plans to coordinate seminars in different parts of the state this academic year itself.
